This project involved site enabling works and civil works to new 45,600m2 mater hospital extension complete with 20,000m2 basement.
On this job FIMA had to take great care not to generate dust, noise or vibration. This was controlled by hourly checks on the processes and plant being used to carry out the work, demonstrating FIMA’s ability to successfully complete work in a built up urban inner city environment. While working alongside and crossing both North Circular Rd and Eccles St, FIMA successfully carried out this project without causing delay or nuisance to the general public, hospital users and staff.
By end 2011, the construction site had achieved 1.5m accident free hours, with FIMA playing a significant part in this.
